Open world action game pits players against drug cartels in South America

E3 2015: Ghost Recon: Wildlands is the newest Tom Clancy game

Ubisoft ended its E3 press conference with the surprise reveal of a new Tom Clancy game.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands is an open-world action adventure that sees players lead a squad of covert operatives.

Set in South America, it tasks them with pitting drug cartels against each other in order to remove the threat of these groups from the area.

Debut footage showed the variety of ways players can tackle each mission, such as sniping from long-range, sneaking in for a stealth approach or ambushing their enemies with an all-out assault.

There will be a range of vehicles to help travel around the large open world, including the option of skydiving into mission areas.

The game is in development at Ubisoft Paris, and is expected for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Ubisoft still has two more Tom Clancy titles in the works, with Rainbow Six: Siege arriving in October and The Division finally released next March.
