Publisher to host job fair to help affected staff find jobs

EA closes long-standing developer Mythic Entertainment

EA has closed long-standing developer Mythic Entertainment after 19 years.

The publisher said it was working with affected staff to help find new job opportunities both internally and externally.

The studio is known for titles such as Warhammer Online and the controversial Dungeon Keeper reboot on mobile.

“We are closing the EA Mythic location in Fairfax, Virginia, as we concentrate mobile development in our other studio locations,” an EA spokesperson told Kotaku.

“We are working with all impacted employees to provide assistance in finding new opportunities, either within EA or with other companies via an upcoming job fair.”

Mythic’s most recent release, Dungeon Keeper, had sparked controversy over its apparent aggressive use of in-app purchases and redirecting users who wanted to post low star reviews away from app stores and to a feedback form.
