EA community manager hints at Skate 4

Skate 3’s highly-awaited sequel might finally happen – or at least that’s what we can interpret from a single random tweet.

Senior manager at EA’s community engagement team Daniel Lingen simply tweeted #skate4” (see below) on Friday and everyone lost it. At the time of writing, this single tweet has gathered over 20,000 likes and has been retweeted over 10,000 times.

EA has yet to confirm it is actually working on Skate 4, as the firm said last May that they were not developing a new title for the series: We love the passion our players feel for the Skate franchise. A new game is not in development, but we appreciate your feedback,” the company tweeted. Since then, fans have started campaigns – at the initiative of skateboarding site The Berrics –on social media to push EA into making Skate 4.

Skate 3 released in 2010 and made a surprising come back in the UK charts in 2014, after PewDiePie released a video in which he played the skateboarding title.

Other skateboarding games have been back at the top recently, such as OlliOlli, which launched physically last year, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, which released for last-gen consoles at the end of 2015.
