Eurogamer acquires Hammersuit

It has been confirmed that Rupert Loman’s Eurogamer Network has acquired US publisher Hammersuit.

The deal means that both IndustryGamers.com and Modojo.com will now both fall under the Eurogamer banner.

The agreement also means that Hammersuit will take charge of representing Eurogamer brands such as VG247, RockPaperShotgun and GamesIndustry in the US market.

"We have been looking for the right opportunity to expand our business across the Atlantic and we are delighted to complete the acquisition of Hammersuit," Loman stated.

"They are a great fit for us and the potential as we expand our business to North America is huge. We already have a significant US readership that values our distinctive editorial voice so adding a local team will greatly strengthen our offering for readers and advertisers in both Europe and North America."

IndustryGamer founder James Brightman, who holds the role of editor-in-chief, said of the deal: "I’ve been following the progress of the Eurogamer Network for a very long time now and the dedication of their team is inspiring.

"I’m thrilled to be joining forces with one of the premier brands in gaming media, and I’m eager to turbocharge the business on this side of the Atlantic."
