New hires made to strengthen Remedy's board during industry transition

Ex-Epic president Mike Capps joins Remedy’s board

Mike Capps, former president of Epic Games, has joined Remedy Entertainment’s board of directors.

Remedy welcomes in both Capps and F-Secure president Christian Frederikson to its board, CEO Matias Myllyrinne announced on the studio’s blog.

Capps new appointment comes nine months after he reduced his role at Epic Games from president to board member, and six months after he officially left the company.

Myllyrinne explained the hires were made in effort to "strengthen” Remedy’s board as the industry moves through a transitional stage.

"[The industry is] going through an incredible amount of uncertainty and risk … for Remedy as a studio, we’re at a stage where we felt it would be beneficial to bring in some more guidance," Myllyrinne told Games Beat.

Remedy’s previous releases include Max Payne, as well as the Alan Wake series. The company is currently developing an Xbox One-exclusive action game entitled Quantum Break.
