Jamie Stowe takes up role of technical designer on Kickstarter-funded title Godus

Ex-Ubisoft level design director joins 22Cans

Former Ubisoft Singapore level and mission design director Jamie Stowe has returned to the UK as technical designer at 22Cans.

In his new position at Peter Molyneux’s Guildford-based studio, Stowe will be working on the developer’s crowdfunded god game Godus.

“Jamie joins 22cans at a very exciting time and takes the role of Technical Designer on the current Kickstarter funded project ‘Godus’,” 22Cans head of production Jemma Harris told Develop.

“The team were very impressed with Jamie’s knowledge and experience so far in the games industry, which includes titles such as Assassins Creed. We feel that Jamie has the experience and skills to become an asset for 22cans.”

Stowe had previously worked at Ubisoft Singapore since 2009 in a number of level design roles. As level design director Stowe mentored and managed 15 designers, and also lead development on Assassin’s Creed III’s Naval battles gameplay, as well as designing the accompanying E3 demo.

Prior to joining Ubisoft, he worked as QA team lead and later as level designer at Codemasters, working on titles such as Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising.

In November, he was also named in Develop’s annual 30 under 30, which shines a light on the most promising young developers shaping the game industry of tomorrow.
