Female Shepard gets cover role

BioWare’s Mass Effect series has always tried to remain gender neutral – with equal options for both male and female characters and no discrimination regarding sexual relationships.

However, one area in which this has not occurred is with the game’s cover, which has always starred the default male version of the series’ protagonist.

However, Rock Paper Shotgun reports that the Collector’s Edition of Mass Effect 3 will break with this tradition and star both the male and female versions of the courageous space traveller.

The regular edition will be all man, however.

Mass Effect 3 will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on March 9th.
