Microsoft has announced that it will not be holding a Gamefest event this year, based on feedback from developers.
According to a statement posted on the Gamefest website, Microsoft found that, according to Gamefest 2008 attendees, the conference would be better placed at a different point in the calendar year due to "development schedules and ship dates".
As such, the firm is "taking the feedback seriously and adjusting the timing of Gamefest 2009 to better accomodate developers’ schedules and offer the best experience possible." No new date has been set for the conference, but Gamasutra believes it to be some point in Q1 2010.
