GAMES MEDIA AWARDS: Media legend

In the final, System 3-sponsored award of last night’s GMAs, Gary Penn, one of the founding fathers of games journalism, was the first journalist to be entered into the GAME Media Awards hall of fame.

System 3 boss Mark Cale handed the award to the veteran of Zzap 64 and The One as a packed Soho Revue Bar gave the biggest round of applause of the night.

Penn has since had spells at number of developers in the games industry, and now works for Denki.
