Quantum Break is coming to Xbox One next April.
April 5th, to be exact, as the game’s developer Remedy revealed on-stage during the opening of Microsoft’s Gamescom press conference for this year.
That release date will see the Xbox One-exclusive sci-fi action title join the ranks of The Division, Uncharted 4, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Dark Souls 3, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, Street Fighter V and Dishonored 2 in an increasingly saturated Spring.
Remedy creative director Sam Lake also revealed the game’s cast, which counts Lost actor Dominic Monaghan and The Wire’s Lance Reddick among its star-studded ranks.
Shawn Ashmore, familiar to X-Men fans, will play protagonist Jack Joyce, while Game of Thrones’ Aidan Gillen will take the role of big bad Paul Serene.
The actors will also feature in the roughly 22-minute-long TV episodes that intersect each chapter of Quantum Break’s gamplay.
The gameplay shown on-stage demonstrated some of Joyce’s time-controlling powers, as well as a few hints at Quantum Break’s story.
Lake called the title "the next big step in Remedy’s 20-year journey of crafting cinematic games".
