If Carlsberg did Fallout beer, it would probably be available to buy on Amazon

Here’s a marketing tie up fit for a quiet Friday afternoon.

Bethesda has partnered with Carlsberg to release a Fallout branded beer inspired by Vault-Tec Industries and the multi-award winning Fallout videogame series”. Although presumably that doesn’t mean it tastes like it’s been left to rot for decades in an irradiated and disused shopping centre.

Carslberg UK’s corporate affairs director Bruce Ray said: This is something of a world-first. Adult participation in video gaming is a truly social activity, on a par with cinema and music. We’re proud to work with Bethesda to produce a beer Fallout fans can enjoy.”

Which pretty much translates to: Adults like things, including beer and games. Please buy our beer.”

Which of course you can do. A case of 12 330ml bottles of the four per cent beer will set you back a somewhat sobering 29.99 on Amazon. It starts shipping on November 5th.

Fallout 4, meanwhile, arrives a few days later on November 10th.
