Comments from Microsoft Studios creative director Adam Orth attacking always-on internet naysayers have been labelled as inappropriate” by Microsoft.
"We apologise for the inappropriate comments made by an employee on Twitter yesterday," a statement read. "This person is not a spokesperson for Microsoft, and his personal views do not reflect the customer centric approach we take to our products or how we would communicate directly with our loyal consumers.
We are very sorry if this offended anyone, however we have not made any announcements about our product roadmap, and have no further comment on this matter."
The outburst in question was made online by Orth late last week.
"Sorry, I don’t get the drama behind having an ‘always on’ console,” he stated. Every device is now ‘always on’. That’s the world we live in. #dealwithit.”
What Microsoft’s statement doesn’t address, of course, is the core controversy at the heart of all of this – will the new Xbox require a constant internet connection to work?
