MICROSOFT: Forza 5 promises "the end of AI"

Microsoft is promising that Xbox One racer Forza 5 will revolutionise the racing genre thanks to its advanced handling of AI.

Microsoft reckons that it will use its Xbox Cloud network to implement a new form of learning. It will monitor a player’s driving style and use this information to construct a ‘Drivatar’.

This data is used to construct a ‘Drivatar’ – an online representation of the player that continues to race even when its owner is offline. It will mimic their driving style – including when they play dirty and where they excel.

These Drivatars populate the races of other players, therefore resulting in players competing with other players, even when offline.

Microsoft has dubbed this as the end of AI”, as players will never be left playing against CPU opponents alone.
