‘Free-to-publish’ GoPlay offering launched in July

Mobile publisher GoGame secures multi-million Sega investment

Singapore-based mobile publisher GoGame has been backed by Sega less than six months after its incorporation.

The firm was founded by industry veteran David Ng, the ex-CEO of Gumi Asia, in July of this year.

It offers what it calls a ‘free-to-publish’ platform to developers looking to break into the mobile sector via its GoPlay service.

GoPlay lets devs select which products they want to pay for in addition to the ability to publish for free: marketing, analytics, community management and payment systems all come at a premium.

The idea is combine all of the above into a single platform to make it easier for studios to launch on mobile.

Sega has now made a “multi-million dollar” investment in GoGame, according to Tech in Asia.

As part of the deal, GoGame will be granted access to Sega’s resources, plus its Noah Pass advertising network, which has more than 100 million users in Japan.

Venture capital firm Incubate Fund also made an investment in GoGame.
