Modern Warfare 3 set for GDC reveal

Activision is likely to reveal the next iteration in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series at next week’s Game Developers Conference.

A teasing countdown has appeared at findmarkarov.com, named for the man who led the notorious airport attack depicted in Modern Warfare 2’s No Russian level. The timer will run out in just under five days, which coincides with the middle of GDC.

The site came to the press’ attention when bloodied dogtags bearing the URL were sent to the press, according to That Videogame Blog.

The tags also suggested players will end the war” in the next game and listed details about Sheperd, the main villain from MW2.

Last month, reports suggested Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is being co-developed by three studios: Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software.
