More PSP 2 rumours surface

Following MCV’s exclusive story last week that pointed to a possible E3 reveal for a proper successor to Sony’s PlayStation Portable, one consumer games site claims to have unearthed details of the in-development machine.

VG247 claims that NDAs (non disclosure agreements) about the PSP2 have been in place at publishers and developers for several months.

Furthermore, it’s claimed that the device will boast a touch-screen, both a forward facing and a backwards facing camera and possible 3G over-the-air net connectivity. It’s also said to, despite its touch capability, still include the traditional PlayStation button arrangement and be based on a four-core Cell CPU.

Many titles are said to already be in development, and one source claimed that it would be amazed” if any kind of physical media was involved.

It’s also claimed that an E3 reveal is now unlikely with the launch of the device having been pushed back to 2011. Instead, it is claimed a Gamescom or Tokyo Game Show announcement is now more likely.

Pinches of salt are advised, though, with VG247 being very ambiguous about the origins of its information.
