More Skylanders products head to retail

A huge array of new licensed Skylanders products will hit retail this summer.

Mobile phone accessories, toys, stationary sets, balloons, shoes and stickers will launch in the coming weeks to complement the existing range of plush toys, calendars, birthday cards, cakes and toiletries.

There are now well over 120 Skylanders licensors, with international licensing specialist CPLG handling the IP for Activision.

Upcoming new products include a range of audio, smartphone and PC accessories from Impact International, which are based around the upcoming Skylanders sequel, Swap Force. These products will go on sale over the summer for between 4.99 and 29.99.

Creative Kids is in the process of launching a range of stationary and activity sets based on the current Skylanders game, Giants. Paper Projects is putting the finishing touches to its own range of Skylanders stickers, while shoe specialist Brand International and balloons manufacturer Amscan are currently finalising their plans with Activision.

Skylanders is the UK’s third biggest video games IP. The Skylanders figures accounted for an impressive 25 per cent of the UK accessories market last year.
