MS silent on Xbox 360 price drop

With US retailers currently discounting current stocks of the Xbox 360 Elite and Arcade to make room for the redesigned Xbox 360 250GB, Microsoft has refused to be drawn on whether the UK will see similar price drops on the current machines.

We have nothing further to announce at this time,” an Xbox UK spokesperson told MCV.

However, the spokesperson was able to confirm that previously speculated launch dates and prices are accurate.

I can confirm that the Xbox 360 250GB console will launch in the UK on July 16th at an ERP of 199. This will be the same price as the current Xbox 360 Elite console.”

GAME will today announce a number of trade-in deals for those hoping to hand over their existing hardware in return for a discount against the new machine.
