Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us leads 2014 BAFTA Games nominations

The Last of Us and Grand Theft Auto V are among the titles put forward for the most awards in this year’s British Academy Games Awards.

Naughty Dog’s title has been nominated for ten awards including Action and Adventure, Game Design and Best Game, while Rockstar’s blockbuster crime title has been put forward for nine, such as Best Game, British Game and Game Innovation.

Sony’s handheld title Tearaway is up for eight awards, while Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Bioshock Infinite, Super Mario 3D World, The Stanley Parable and Papers, Please have all been nominated for four awards each.

In total, 43 games from the last twelve months have been put forward in the 17 categories. This number is slightly lower than last year’s awards, which saw 50 titles nominated.
