Sequel to the money-spinning sports game underway

Rare splits duties for new Kinect Sports project

Microsoft has delegated its Kinect Sports 2 project to two separate studios based either side of the Atlantic.

The game’s original creators, Rare, is co-developing the new project with US studio Big Park Games, responsible for Kinect Joyride. Microsoft owns both studios.

The game is said has utilised Kinect’s “enhanced motion tracking” technologies, as demonstrated earlier today at Microsoft’s E3 press conference.

Kinect Sports 2 is due for release Christmas this year.

At the time of going to press, no other Rare projects have been publicly announced at E3.
