Rise of the Tomb Raider hits 1m units, could launch on PC this month

Crystal Dynamics’ Rise of the Tomb Raider has shifted ‘well over one million units’ since it was released in November.

That’s according to Xbox’s marketing man Aaron Greenburg, who confirmed that the adventure title had reached the sales milestone responding to a fan on Twitter (below).

This follows Microsoft revealing on Xbox Wire that every one of its exclusive line-up had sold over one million units.

As well as Rise of the Tomb Raider, Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Motorsport 6, Gears of War Ultimate Edition all reached one million units.

The2013 Tomb Raider reboot sold 8.5m unitsbetween its March 2013 launch and April 2015. That title debuted on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC before launching as a Definitive Edition on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Rise of the Tomb Raider launched as a timed exclusive for Xbox One and Xbox 360 on November 27th. The title is coming to PlayStation 4 at the end of this year.

It’s also set for a PC release, and this could be happening very soon. The title’s page on Steam currently has a ‘January 2016′ release date which backs up a leak from Amazon France last year that placed the PC launch during this month.
