SCEA dev wanted God of War FPS

God of War III is one of the most anticipated games on PS3 – but some believe that the game would be even more anticipated had it shunned in hack ‘n’ slash heritage in favour of an FPS adaptation.

That’s the belief of SCEA art director Ken Feldman, who has revealed via Split-Screen that he tried to convince colleagues to turn Kratos’ next-gen outing into an FPS.

I tried unsuccessfully to convince [director] Stig to make God of War III a first-person shooter,” he explained.

Kratos could have some truly badass huge weapons that rip gods to shreds. Unfortunately he didn’t see the genius in the idea.”

‘Genius’, eh?
