Sega Sammy generated £214 million in net profit for the last financial year ending March 31st, up more than 50 per cent on the previous year.
Total operating income was also down by 67.3 per cent to £122 million from the year prior, with net sales for the entire company down to £2 billion.
The consumer business, which houses Sega’s games operations, experienced a year-on-year decline in the total volume of packaged software sales to just under 11 million.
Net sales for the consumer business fell slightly to £542 million, and reported an operating loss of £4.7 million. This was down however from the £97 million loss made the year prior.
Europe proved to be Sega’s biggest market, selling 4.4 million games in the region, while also selling a further 4.2m in the US and 2.1m in Japan.
Sports Interactive’s Football Manager has sold over one million copies since release, while Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed managed to garner over 1.3 million sales.
Controversial title Aliens: Colonial Marines meanwhile managed to sell 1.3 million units.
Sega also stated that online MMO Phantasy Star Online 2 had surpassed 2.5 million registered users after its launch just under a year ago.
With the launch of the PS4 and next Xbox expected later this year, Sega is targeting an increase in software sales to 11.6 million copies, with Europe to again lead sales figures.
The company also said it planned to continue shifting its business structure to focus on the development of digital games for mobile, smartphones and PC.
By the end of March 31st 2014, Sega Sammy expects to increase total profits 40.5 per cent to £300 million.
