Sega’s James Schall promoted to VP of digital business

Sega Europe has promoted James Schall to vice president of its digital business, the publisher has announced. Previously director of digital distribution, Schall will continue to build on Sega’s digital success across console and PC to take the company into a leading PC powerhouse.

He will also continue to work with Sega’s current digital partners, as well as a growing number of third party studios to launch Sega’s upcoming catalogue of releases.

James has made a huge contribution to Sega’s growth over recent years and I’m delighted by his promotion,"John Clark, senior VP of commercial publishing commented.

"With this appointment we are well positioned to continue our initiatives and further strengthen the fantastic partner and studio relationships we have.”

Schall added: I’m excited by the new role as it will enable me to work more closely with our development studios, continuing to focus on delivering our amazing content to our passionate fans and communities.”

Sega recently announced it was keen to revive some of its classic IPs in its Road to 2020 document, and we’ve already seen the release of Platinumgames’ Bayonetta on PC, while the studio’s third person shooter Vanquish is due to hit Steam on May 25th. These are just two of Sega’s ‘best practice PC conversions’, with Clark saying there’s a lot more to come from Sega in this space in the future.
