Killzone 3 in 3D a 'technical showpiece' for 3D, says studio's managing director Herman Hulst

SONY: Guerrilla Games on Killzone 3D

Following the Sony E3 press conference annoucment that Killzone 3 is to support 3D, Guerrilla Games managing director Herman Hulst has been talking about creating a title for Sony’s new display technology.

"3D technology is not something we’re looking to merely adapt in to Killzone 3," promised Hulst. "Rather, 3D is something built from the ground up to run in 3D."

Calling Killzone 3 in 3D a ‘technical showpiece’ for 3D, Haulst also confirmed that the game will be launched in February 2011 – slightly soon than previosuly thought.

The audience, all equipped with 3D glasses, were treated to a level seemingly set on an abandoned tanker. First-person use of the much-discussed in-game jet packs was also displayed.
