Sony might discount PS4’s The Last of Us for game’s existing owners

Those who purchased The Last of Us on PS3 might get the chance to pick up the PS4 version at a discounted price.

The Last of Us: Remastered was revealed earlier this month. The 1080p reworking of the game will retail for 49.99 when it arrives this summer – just a year after the launch of the PS3 original.

When asked on the PlayStation blog if there was any chance that people who own TLoU on PS3 will get a discount on TLoU Remastered?”, Naughty Dog’s community strategist Eric Monacelli replied:

We’re looking into the business model for all this and will post about this once we have input from all regions.”

Many PS4 launch games – such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4 and Assassin’s Creed IV – were available on the cheap for those who had already purchased the game on PS3.

Similar offers were available on Xbox One.
