Sony promises no PS3 shortages

Despite yesterday’s warning from retailer Amazon that the new PS3 Slim is likely to be in short supply come its release next month, SCEE president Andrew House has claimed that his firm has ensured that the transition from the old to the new will be seamless

I’m very pleased with how we have managed our inventory system on the existing model,” House told MCV.

We’ve done that very well in the European market. There are trucks and trailers leaving right now – it’s on the road.”

And of claims that stock shortages could dampen retail’s enthusiasm for the new console this Q4, House asserted: I will make a prediction there – I don’t think we will be having too many of those discussions with retail.”
