Stephen Fry and Charlie Brooker back EA in gay row

Publisher EA has received some very public backing over the weekend from two very high profile celebrities – Stephen Fry and Charlie Brooker.

Their vocal backing comes as EA faces increased criticism from anti-gay protestors (mainly in the US and mainly from religious groups) over the ability of Mass Effect players to have same-sex relationships if they so choose.

Star Wars: The Old Republic has also irked the right wing masses by offering similar possibilities.

If you do 0 else today, do join me and@Yodato help game-maker@eastand strong against anti gay hate & the dark side,” Fry tweeted yesterday.

Brooker later added: Good for@EAfor telling the homophobes to fuck off. Petition here you could just tweet@EA
