Prism developed by former Hollywood artist Clint Siu

Stugan accelerator releases debut game

Swedish games accelerator Stugan is publishing its first title: geometric puzzle game Prism.

The iOS title was developed by Clint Siu, a former Hollywood artist that has worked on films such as World War Z, and based on idea Siu conceived in order to take part in last year’s Stugan event.

The not-for-profit Stugan accelerator is an unusual games initiative where developers spent a week in cabins in the Swedish countryside in order to create new titles, offering mentorship and support to its participants. Develop visited the accelerator last summer – you can read our account here.

Siu’s game is actually being released ahead of schedule, thanks to the development knowledge he gained at Stugan. Prism sees players manipulating various 3D shapes in order to “unfold sacred geometry”.

Stugan has recently opened applications for this year’s accelerator. Developers interested in taking part should head to www.stugan.com – the deadline is March 31st.

This year’s mentors will include Resolution Games’ Tommy Palm, Mojang’s Jens Bergensten, Rovio’s Oskar Burman, EA’s Karl Mangus Troedsson, I/O Ventures’ Paul Bragiel and former King dev Alexander Ekvall.
