Kickstarter-funded game bags publisher before campaign finishes

Team17 signs indie strategy title Sheltered

Team17’s indie partner program continues to expand thanks to a new deal with Unicube for its crowd-funded strategy game Sheltered.

The game is currently midway through a Kickstarter campaign, but the Worms firm has enough confidence in the project that it has agreed to help bring it to PC and other platforms in 2015.

Sheltered is a management strategy game that revolves around a family holed up in an underground bunker after a nuclear holocaust. It will be up to players to find enough resources to keep the family alive.

"The minute we saw the concept, we absolutely know we wanted Sheltered to join our indie partner program – in fact, it was a total must," said Team17 MD Debbie Bestwick. "I think the process from our first look to sgning it actually took around 48 hours, which shows not only the speed with which we move but also the belief both parties have in each other."

Sonny Meek and Dean Foster, co-owners of Shrewsbury-based inide Unicube, added: "We’ve been long-time fans of the Worms franchise. To think we’re now working alongside Team17 is a bit surreal. We’re really excited about working with Team17 over the next year, and think we have a bright future ahead."
