The Masters golf championship won’t be appearing in Rory McIlroy PGA Tour

EA’s upcoming Rory McIlroy PGA Tour will not feature one of the most best-known courses in the golfing world.

The iconic Masters tournament will not be making an appearance in the forthcoming golf title as the game cannot feature the Augusta National course, where the championship takes place.

In a statement to Polygon, EA said: "Our license with Augusta National has expired and it does not currently appear in EA Sports Rory McIlroy PGA Tour.

"However, we will continue to examine opportunities to include this world-class course in the game."

But the course might appear in the title at a later date, with EA seemingly exploring the option of adding it as DLC when its licence with the Augusta National is renewed.

The real life Masters 2015 kicks off tomorrow (April 9th).
