The puzzle is solved – Kojima reveals Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Konami’s cryptic PR campaign has finally been unravelled. Although do we know if the dude with the face was CGI or what?

Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has confirmed that both Ground Zeroes, which was announced in August last year, and video curiosity The Phantom Pain are both one and the same – that is, they are both Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

The game sees protagonist Snake in the midst of a nine-year coma, although he fortunately recovers from this and regains his strength for the full game proper which, incidentally, will be open-world.

PS3 and Xbox 360 are the confirmed platforms and a release date has not yet been announced.

How very complicated.
