Trademark filing points to new Guerrilla mech arena shooter, Rigs

Sony is planning on announcing a new shooter from Killzone Mercenary developer Guerrilla Cambridge during its E3 media briefing.

That’s according to Videogamer, who is reporting that the new game is called Rigs, and will be a three versus three multiplayer first person shooter.

This morning a trademark for the game was filed by SCEE, corroborating information Videogamer received earlier in the year about the title.

The game features two teams of mechs who have to score points by diving into a hole at the centre of the arena.

Back in September 2013, Guerrilla expressed an interest in working on IP other than the Killzone franchise.

It is also expected that Sony will be unveiling another Guerrilla title tonight, the long-rumoured RPG, Horizon.

Sony’s media briefing starts tomorrow morning at 2am.
