Turbulenz Limited game creation and publishing platform receives investor support

UK game tech firm raises $5m in funding

Turbulenz Limited, the UK-based online game creation and publishing platform, has raised over $5m in investor funding.

Founded early last year by former EA and Criterion Software staff, the Turbulenz platform will be released – thanks in no small part to this latest round of investments – in 2011.

“We are thrilled to announce that we have raised these funds, which will allow us to continue expanding our development goals enabling Turbulenz to power a new generation of online games,” said Turbulenz CEO James Austin.

Turbulenz COO Gavin Shields noted the achievement had been completed in a difficult economic situation.

“Being able to raise these funds in this tough economic climate reflects the ambitious plans we have to transform the way games are created, distributed and played online,” he said.

“Our investors are fully behind our plans and we look forward to launching the Turbulenz platform in 2011."
