Until Dawn Twitch archiving block was unintentional

Sony has said that it did not deliberately disable player’s ability to archive their Until Dawn gameplay streams.

Twitch users are normally able to archive their streamed footage for those who missed the live broadcast. However, Twitch confirmed earlier this week that the game’s publisher, Sony, had disabled the functionality for Until Dawn.

It had been speculated that the decision was designed to avoid spoilers of the game’s branching narrative, which sees several characters potentially meet their doom depending on the choices and actions of the player in-game.

However, Sony has now said that the whole thing is nothing more than a mistake.

"We are currently working on a fix that will enable archiving of Until Dawn Twitch streams as this feature was unintentionally disabled,” it told Engadget. We are humbled by the community reception of the game and are excited to see fans sharing experiences on Twitch and YouTube.

We apologize for the inconvenience and will provide an update as soon as the issue has been resolved."
