Although VP Lombardi says 'anything is possible' for envied US studio

Valve willing to talk acquisition, but is also ‘happy’ with independence

The VP of Half-Life 2 and Portal developer Valve has said that the studio would be ‘happy’ to have discuss a potential acquisition with interested parties – although said the studio is comfortable as it is.

The studio has been a long-running and famed independent studio, and is responsbile not only for a successful set of owned IP but also the Steam distribution platform.

In an interview with Gamasutra Lombardi stated that if anyone was interested in acquiring the firm he would be “happy to have that conversation”, adding: “By the same token, the company’s doing pretty well, and we’re really happy with what we’re doing. So we’ll see. I mean, anything is possible."
