Vevo music app launches on Xbox Live

Xbox 360 owners can now access music video application Vevo in the UK, US, Canada and Ireland.

The service – which goes live today – lets users watch more than 45,000 music videos by 11,000 artists, from Kelly Clarkson to Tinie Tempah. They can also browse videos using Kinect’s voice recognition technology.

The Vevo app is part of Microsoft’s Xbox Live entertainment push, which has already seen other dashboard apps appear on the online platform, such as YouTube, Blinkbox and MSN.

Vevo joins other Xbox Live music apps such as Zune and Muzu.TV.

Users will require an Xbox Live Gold subscription to use Vevo. Microsoft currently charges an annual fee of 39.99 for this service.
