Your iPad can now control your Xbox 360

Microsoft’s My Xbox Live iOS app has been updated to offer users the ability to control their console with their iDevice.

The app’s v1.6 update allows iPad users to take control of a number of features including launching games, watching Xbox Live videos, in-video controls and browsing of the general UI.

The app already allows users to alter their avatars, track achievements and track recent activity.

The move can be seen as a natural precursor to the official release of Microsoft’s SmartGlass functionality for Xbox 360 that will look to further integrate second screen” functionality into a host of console software.
