Zynga opens new US office with latest acquisition

Zynga has bought out cross-platform US developer Buzz Monkey, it has been revealed.

As reported by The Resister-Guard, the acquisition will result in the company becoming Zynga’s Oregon office, Zynga Eugene, and will house more than 50 developers.

The cost of the takeover has not been disclosed.

Buzz Monkey has previously worked on games such as FrontierVille for Zynga, Tomb Raider trilogy for PS3, Block Rogue for iOS and Army of Two: The 40th Day for PSP.

“Zynga’s mission is to connect the world through games,” read a statement from Zynga.


“We are delighted to welcome Buzz Monkey to the Zynga family. This experienced and talented development team will form our newest satellite, Zynga Eugene.

“Zynga Eugene will work on undisclosed Zynga projects, and we’re excited to build and grow this office to continue our goal of surprising and delighting our players.”

The acquisition of Buzz Monkey will mean Zynga now has 18 satellite offices.
