Rebellion promises new focus on quality

UK super studio Rebellion wants to shed its reputation for poor quality releases, CEO Jason Kingsley has stated.

Many of the developer’s recent releases have arrived to poor critical acclaim, with titles such as Shellshock 2 and Rogue Warrior in particular being singled out for major issues.

Even commercial hits such as Aliens vs Predator have had to endure mauling from reviewers.

But this is something Kingsley is keen to change.

It’s now a deliberate policy to move away from making games that might have been good for business, but not necessarily good for our reputation,” he admitted in the latest issue of Edge.

You’re only as good as the deal you’re offered. If someone says ‘Can you make me a game in nine months?’ then the answer is, ‘Probably. But it won’t be as good as a game where we’ve had creative input and the time to mature the idea’.”

Rebellion currently has two titles officially in production – Sniper Elite V2 and Neverdead.
