3DS sales up 260% since price drop

Nintendo has revealed that following its global price drop for the 3DS, sales of the machine have dramatically improved in the US.

Prior to the cut, the console was retailing for around $250. Now it has an RRP of $169.99.

Throughout August the company sold a total of 235k units. Of that number, 185k were sold in the 19-day period that followed the price cut. Month-on-moth that a 260 per cent increase on the sale 19-day period in July.
