First item sold on Amazon Mexico was Fire Emblem Ike Amiibo

Yesterday (June 30th) Amazon officially opened its Mexican website, and the first purchase was none other than an Ike Amiibo.

That’s according to CNN Mexico’s Twitter account, who said (via the translation tool): ‘A curious fact, the first product that was sold [on] #AmazonMexico was an Amiibo of Ike for Wii U’.

Not that this should be hugely surprising – Nintendo’s toy-to-life range has been astronomically popular. Between their release in November 2014, and May 2015, 10.5m Amiibo have been shipped.

Since launch they have become collectors items, and the platform holder has struggled to keep up with demand as the figures ‘smashed’ expectations. Counterfeit Amiibo have also been spotted in Brazil.
