GAME hacked

UPDATE: No we haven’t, says retail giant.

Reports have suggested that leading UK specialist retailer GAME has had its online security breached in the latest attack by hackers.

Customer information, including email addresses and passwords (stored as plain text) were obtained from the company’s website and posted on the internet, according to Softpedia.

There is no word on whether the hackers managed to access any payment or credit card information.

Catalyst-Gaming, a website based in Northern Tasmania, Australia, was also attacked.

Last year, hackers breached the security systems protecting scores of websites, accessing customer information from firms such as Sony, Valve, Nintendo, Epic Games and Bethesda.

GAME has denied the breach.
