GAME hands out £1.08m in Reward Points via Virtual Loyalty Shares

Retailer GAME has over the weekend rewarded 8,000 customers with a big slice of free store credit.

When GAME floated in the summer it also handed out what it calls Virtual loyalty Shares to 20,000 customers. Most received 100 worth, although 10 were given 1,000 of the virtual shares.

8,000 of those chose to cash them in during the first redemption window late last month, and with the retailer’s shares reaching a record-high of 314p that equated to 152 worth of credit for the 6,030 customers who cashed in their full 100 and 1,525 for the five customers who were gifted 1,000 in credit.

2,013 opted to cash in half of their shares for 76 of credit.

It’s fantastic that so many customers have decided to redeem their Virtual Loyalty Shares and can enjoy their Reward points during GAME season, the most exciting time of the year for gamers,” insight and marketing director Fred Prego said.

This is a great way for us to thank our customers for all of their support and with loads of new releases to get their hands on, it will hopefully make their festive season even merrier! This isn’t the end either: those who didn’t redeem their Shares this time will have further opportunities to do so in the future… watch this space.”
