Gamebased Learning discount deadline nears

The deadline for an early registration discount is nearly upon us. The event takes place this month in London and strives to bring together games industry and education sector leaders, designers, innovators, policy makers, publishers and practitioners to discuss key issues, network, and explore new technologies.

Over 400 attendees are expected to attend, where speakers including Ed Vaizey, Shadow Minister for Culture and the Creative Industries, and LittleBigPlanet creators Siobhan Reddy and Kareem Ettouney will lead sessions.

Early bird registration for Game Based Learning 2010 is still available, offering a 100 discount to all those who secure a pass before March 19th. Furthermore, CasualGaming.biz readers can get a 20 per cent online discount if they register before March 12th using the code ‘intentgbl’.

In addition, academic and game development veteran Seamus Blackley is to provide the closing keynote at the Game Based Learning 2010 conference.

Blackley, who has previously worked for Microsoft and Dreamworks Interactive, will deliver an overview of the games industry and its relationship with the education sector.

"It’s a real privilege to have Seamus present the closing keynote at Game Based Learning," said conference curator Graham Brown-Martin. "As somebody who is both an academic as well as noted game technology creator he is in the eye of a perfect storm between gaming and learning".

Blackley, who made his name in game physics and is now an agent at Creative Artists Agency, will be closing an afternoon of industry talks from Tiga’s CEO Richard Wilson, Tom Chatfield, author at Fun Inc, and Sean Brennan, MD of Bethesda and Zenimax.

Game Based Learning 2010 takes place in London’s The Brewery venue, and runs from March 29th to 30th. Click here to visit the event’s official website.
