After three consecutive weeks at No.1, FIFA 18 has lost the top spot in the UK weekly charts.
Having launched early last week, PS4 exclusive Gran Turismo Sport debuted at No.1. As GfK points out, it’s the first appearance of the 19 years old franchise on a current-gen console, as the last entry in the series was 2013’s Gran Turismo 6 on PS3. The data firm also points out that sales for Sony’s GT Sport are far from reaching the heights of 2010’s Gran Turismo 5, which had Week One sales over three times higher.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft’s South Park: The Fractured But Whole entered the charts at No.3 to steady sales compared to 2014’s The Stick of Truth. Week One sales for the follow-up were only down seven per cent compared to the first instalment.
2K took the fourth sport with the new entry in its WWE franchise. Unit sales for WWE 2K18 are down 18 per cent compared to last year’s instalment, but GfK points out that revenue is actually up five per cent on WWE 2K17 thanks to good performances from the £79.99 Deluxe and £129.99 Collectors editions. The data firm adds that 24 hours after hitting shelves on October 18th, WWE 2K18 was actually ahead of South Park in terms of units, but Ubisoft’s title caught up later in the week.
For its second week on shelves, Middle-earth: Shadow of War fell to No.5 with sales decreasing 74 per cent, while Bethesda’s The Evil Within 2 took No.6 with a 56 per cent decline in sales.
Elsewhere, Nintendo’s Fire Emblem Warriors debuted at No.16, having launched only one day before GfK closed its report for the week, and THQ Nordic’s Elex entered the charts at No.25. Further down the charts, Sold Out’s Rogue Trooper Redux debuted at No.37.
