E-Xpress Interactive, one of India’s largest video game distributors, held its annual trade showcase in Mumbai last week, which was attended by several top retailers.
Company director Amit Khemani kicked things off by detailing the Max Payne 3 success story in India, highlighting the game’s marketing and PR campaign in the country. Incidentally, Max Payne 3 is the only game released this year to consistently feature in the Flipkart weekly charts.
The main focus of the event was to highlight E-Xpress’ line-up of upcoming games, which includes Assassin’s Creed 3, Far Cry 3, Hitman: Absolution, Tomb Raider, Sleeping Dogs, Darksiders 2, Dishonored, Borderlands 2, WWE 13 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
In attendance were representatives from various large format, specialist and independent retailers such as Croma, Planet M, Reliance Digital, Landmark, Crossword, Hyper City and Flipkart.
This was a very good initiative by E-Xpress to educate the retailers about its products. This certainly grows my faith in their line-up,” said Croma’s Varun Mehra at the event.
E-Xpress Interactive distributes games from several publishers, including Square Enix, Warner Bros Interactive Games, Sega, Take Two, THQ, Bethesda, Namco Bandai and Ubisoft. The company also operates Games The Shop, a specialist games retail chain with ten stores across India.
