Skyrim passes 10m shipped mark, beats Steam records

Bethesda has now shipped in excess of 10m units of its fantastic RPG title The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim worldwide.

No firm sales figures have been released, though the publisher adds that the number represents some $650m in sales.

Valve has added that Skyrim is now officially the fastest selling game ever on Steam, too.

The game finally claimed its deserved UK No.1 after a month on sale this week thanks to some aggressive discounting by Gamestation.

And with the internet still awash with excitement and enthusiasm for the game, it’s easy to imagine word of mouth propelling sales onward through Christmas.

Indeed, as part of our Christmas feature coverage on MCVuk.com we’ll be revealing the games of the year as named by us and the wider industry. And here’s a spoiler – Skyrim features in it. A lot.
