Tokyo RPG Factory’s Lost Sphear to receive exclusive physical edition on PS4 and Switch

I am Setsuna developer Tokyo RPG Factory has unveiled its next project. Entitled Lost Sphear, the title will be coming to PS4, Nintendo Switch and Steam in early 2018, with an exclusive physical edition available from the Square Enix Online Store for PS4 and Switch. Fans who pre-order the game will also get two free music tracks as a bonus launch gift.

Building on the foundations laid down by the studio’s existing title, I am Setsuna, Lost Sphear will utilise the same active time battle system as its 2016 predecessor and, from the looks of its announcement trailer, feature similar hand painted environments. This time around, however, the story will focus on a band of heroes trying to save their world from gradually disappearing.

I am Setsuna launched digitally on PS4 and Steam in July last year, but was later re-released for the Switch as a launch title on March 3rd 2017 with extra DLC. Once again, it was a digital-only title in the west, but was released at retail in its home country of Japan.

Square Enixalso have another title in development for the Switch by the name of Project Octopath Traveller. Not much is currently known about the title other than what was shown during Nintendo’s initial Switch presentation back in January, but it’s possible we may hear about both titles during Nintendo’s upcoming Spotlight livestream at this year’s E3.

For now, here’s the announcement trailer for Lost Sphear:
