Ubisoft details Assassin’s Creed 4 PC features

Ubisoft has revealed more details on the PC version of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, which releases later this month.

As with Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Ubisoft has worked with Nvidia to ensure that Black Flag is optimised for the current generation Geforce GTX graphics cards.

PC gamers with Geforce GTX cards will benefit from god rays, horizon-based ambient occlusion + (HBAO+), percentage-closer soft shadows (PCSS), temporal anti-aliasing (TXAA), and enhanced 4K textures. So you’re looking at quite a step up from the PS3 and Xbox 360 in terms of eye-candy.

We’ve integrated advanced, PC-specific technologies into the game to give mood and depth to scenes and bring buildings and landscapes to life. The end result is an unparalleled visual treat, and set to be an absolute PC blockbuster,” says Nvidia’s senior vice president of content and technology Tony Tamasi.

Assassin’s Creed 4 is also bundled in free with select Gefore GTX graphics cards for a limited time as part of Nvidia’s holiday bundles. More details on that here.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag for PC releases on 22nd November. The game is out now for PS3 and Xbox 360.
